Cheaters?

The quake 2 game has in game recording. When your spectating just simply go to the console and type record "cheater" or the name of the player. Once you want to stop recording just type in console "stop" and it will stop recording. The file will be in .dm2 format. So it will be in your quake2 folder then go to baseq2/demos and it should be there. It will be named whatever you named it "cheater.dm2" got it?

And if you want to view it just simply type in console "map cheater.dm2" or whatever you named the record "" capish?

Strychnine is a talented player. Umm... this had to been in Vanilla right? Well some maps have unlimited ammo for the record. Could it have been one of those games with infinite ammo?

I did forward your PM to Focalor "The [EoM] H@X Hunter" as he has experience in busting cheaters.

A possibility of seemingly unlimited ammo is fraggen with the HB and picking up more cells during its use. Some maps have more cell packs around than average.

Its happened to me on occasion.

Ok sorry, I knew he killed to often. He usually wins a map when he is there at vanila. I would beat him on occasion. He always wins the map though. I never thought he would be a cheater. Unlimited cells though thats crazy. Now you know how to record. hehe

There's basically 5 kinds of "hacks" out there.

1. aimbot: A proxy connecting program that will do your aiming for you. They usually have field of vision measured in degrees that you can tweak. Any time you pull the trigger when the player is within that zone, you will snap directly onto target and hit them. Aimbots usually also have an option called "autofire", which will automatically fire your weapon for you whenever another player is within that zone. Aimbots aren't very good with rockets, because the player can move out of the line of fire before the rocket reaches them, also the rocket will always target the middle of the player rather than the floor beneath him.

2. wallhack: A hacked vid_ref.dll file (video driver). Usually it has 2 or 3 modes that you toggle between by pressing two keys simultaneously. The first mode, displays the game as it should appear. The second mode allows entities (players, ammo boxes, health packs, powerups, etc) to be seen through the walls. The third mode removes all textures and skins from a map and renders everything in wireframe. Cheating tourney players are usually the ones who use it, because it allows them to spot their opponent before they enter a room. They can fire a rocket or rail slug as they enter a door so they can have more time to fire more shots and finish the kill if the first shot didn't do the job. It also allows you to see where they are before they reach you so that you can avoid them better.

3. spiked player models: These are like wallhacks almost. It's a player model with giant rods that protrude from the top, bottom, left, right, front and back. It allows a person to see the rods as the opponent enters a doorway, indicating when they should fire as they enter the door or come around a corner. The spikes will also protrude through walls and floors so you can know their exact position. There are also spiked grenade models that have smaller spikes sticking out of them so you can easily spot grenades that have been fired by a grenade launcher and avoid standing near them or stepping on them.

4. speedhack: allows a player to move faster around the map than everyone else. I'm not very familiar with this kind of hack, and I doubt you'll ever see someone using such a thing because it's easier to prevent than wallhacks and aimbots.

5. pinghack: Not really a hack. It just makes your ping display higher than it really is. Not very useful unless you're really skilled and you're trying to trick someone else into playing against you who normally wouldn't because your ping is significantly lower than theirs.

There are also TIMERS, a sound file that counts down to when the quad damage will respawn. Some people consider this a hack, but it's not "officially" considered a hack. There are plenty of other sound hacks too, like loud footstep sounds, loud railgun hums, loud water sounds, loud player respawn sounds, etc. Then you have brightskins, player skins that are neon colored to help you see opponents more easily. This is also not officially considered a hack.

This aimbot is a very old proxy aimbot that i
have no clue how to use but its like an

Ratbot:

Ratbot is a proxy bot that shoots outside the crosshair
and works very great with high pings.
This bot is very useful with railgun and
chaingun and supershotgun bc its not like frkq2
and needs to put the crosshair on
the target first to fire.

Frkq2:

This is a multi hack client that allows u to have
wallhack, aimbot, speedhack, radar, pinghack,
but this bot sux dick with pings over 100 bc it
needs to put the crosshair on the
player first before it can fire the weapon
but this bot is very useful with the
railgun and chaingun but most with the chain bc it
locks the crosshair on the target and follow it and
keeps the crosshair on the player when the
player jumps around.

Im sorry dude but u dont know much about
wallhax and the skin doesnt tell if the
player is a guy or girl.

Its pretty hard to tell if u dont have tried a
wallhack to know what the player with it
activated can see or not.

Notice if he cant hit a shit in the open
but can hit u like everytime when u
goes around a corner.

I don't think it is. I use a double jump alias and a rocket jump alias. I don't think they're cheating. They do help me alot though.
