Excellent. I second what Davenz said, he referred me to it. I feel like its safe. Haha but on topic I never listened to music while playing quake2, as I have a sucky ass computer and probably run fewer fps on q2. Anyways I listen to the footsteps and peoples moves.

It's rare I don't have music playing, but as far as what I listen to while fragging - these are my most frequently played lately: - Tool - Aenema
- Filter - Short Bus
- NiN - The Downward Spiral
- The Spawn Soundtrack
- Billy Talent II
In general, it's probably easiest to say what I don't like - New Country, Opera and Dance. The genres I listen to the most would have to be Blues, Progressive Rock, Industrial and Jazz.

I have listen to the Q2 soundtrack more than any other music, but I have listened to Metallica as I have all of there albums on hard-drive and also Rage against the Machine and Tool. I do prefer not to have music going ..... but on the odd occasion I might. I'm now guessing that metal, rock etc is everyones favourite genere for Quake
Genesis, Jethro Tull, Pink Floyd, good stuff Focalor

Anything by Tool is awesome. I like the early stuff the best, Opiate, Aenima, and Undertow. Opiate was a half studio/half live album. The studio tracks were mastered pretty poorly in my opinion. I usually have to turn the volume up a bit on whatever stereo I'm playing it through in order to hear it clearly. The lack of midrange in those tracks also serves to kind of castrate the sound. I'm also a fan of blues. My favorites are Stevie Ray Vaughan (of course), Albert Collins, Albert King, Buddy Guy, T-Bone Walker, and Leadbelly. Leadbelly wasn't exactly blues, he was more folk blues I guess. All of his recorded stuff is from the 1930's and 40's. I have one CD, Goodnight Irene, that I sometimes play on a boombox while I'm working in the garden. My neighbors probably think I'm a mental patient that was mistakenly released from the nuthouse. ... It's not exactly your typical smooth jazz with only clean tones for the guitar, I used a good bit of overdrive and distortion for some of the guitar parts, so I guess that might make it smooth fusion jazz??? I dunno. Maybe one day I'll upload some of it if anyone wants to hear it. I got to see Tool live at Canada's Wonderland when they were touring in 1998. Spectacular show! Can't argue with any of your blues selections. I'd add Susan Tedeschi, Otis Spann, Eddie Boyd and Taj Mahal to the list. I actually got to see Taj live this year, he puts on a great show! I'd love to hear it if you ever have the chance to post it! Sounds interesting.
